RULES AND REGULATION

EXAM RULES
The word assessment simply means the process by which we assign students marks / grades. The object of assessment is to give information about the student’s progress to the parents. The Indus Academy reporting system is designed to give such information on a regular and systematic basis.
Indus Academy conducts the following examination / test throughout the whole year three terminal examination i.e. Term-I, II, III (for class nursery to class two)
Three unit test, Half-yearly, Annual examination, (for class-2 to class -8 of scholastic subjects) for class-2 to class -8 of co-scholastic subjects) three Periodic Test according to CBSE guidelines (for class -9 to class -10).
At Indus academy evaluation will be based on class work, homework, assignments, projects, weekly tests, unit tests, terminal examination, half yearly and Annual examination, Promotion will depend on the overall performance in tests, examination, formative and summative assessments.
Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation is strictly followed in our academy.

LIBRARY RULES
General Rules:
1. All the library users (Students and Teachers) should entry their names and classes on the register book whenever they enter
2. Membership will be cancelled if the due fine is more than Rs 100.
3. Any Library resources are not allowed to take out of the library without the permission of the Librarian or Library In charge
4. While in the library, each and every students should maintain discipline and not yelled or shout or run in the library
5. Students cannot borrow books if they overdue books (unless at discretion of Librarian and Library In-charge for specific individual circumstances)
6. Books are issued only to the students from Class VI to X
7. Students from Pre-Primary to Class V are not allowed to issue books from the library
8. Causing any damage or injury to the book is a serious offense and any user found causing damage to the book is required to pay its price or replace the book with a new one
9. If the students or library members lost their Membership card, a deposit of non-refundable Rs. 100 should be paid.
Circulation Policy
1 Books are issued for 7 days to the students.
2 The teachers and other staff can issue the books for 4 months.
3 A fine of Rs. 2 per book per day will be there for those who exceed the issue days
4 All the users should carry their membership card when they come to borrow books
5 Students can issue 2 books for a period (VI-IX) and 3 books(Class X) and 5 books are issued to the teachers
6 Students can reissue their books only once
7 Magazines, Periodicals, Journals, Newspapers, and Reference Books (Dictionary and Encyclopedias) are not issuable to any users
8 Readers can reserve the book they want to issue by filling in the “Reservation Slip”. Hence, after the previous borrower check out their books the other readers can borrow the book
9 If the borrowers loss the document or do any harm, they are liable to pay the cost of the books or replace the book
10 Borrowers should return the book on the due date.

ICT POLICY
ICT Policy:
Job Responsibilities of general staff: Staff are to observe the following rules and regulations:
1. Entry into the SERVER room is strictly prohibited.
2. Entry into the labs while classes are in progress is prohibited. A Teacher teaching in the lab has all the rights to refuse your entry to the lab while classes are in progress.
3. Internet Browsing in the lab /faculty room etc. is allowed after 2:15pm.
4. Users will be issued user accounts for internet browsing (usage through the proxy server only).
5. Internet may also be accessed for special purposes (e.g. Downloads for school events etc) and during the class hours, only if, it is part of your teaching during that time.
6. Question paper typing can be done in the labs but after 2pm or the faculty systems to be used as provided.
7. Examination/Question papers are to be printed in the Exam Branch only.

Social networking
8 The accessing of social networks such as: Face book, twitter, Skype etc… with the use of school computers is strictly forbidden under all circumstances. This is especially the case during teaching time.
9 While the accessing of social networking sites in an individual’s private capacity is clearly a matter of free will, it is however extremely important that Martin School staff members and learners be very careful about comments or statements made about fellow employees or Learners that could be construed as being derogatory or damaging to the overall reputation of the school.
10 Information placed on such Social Networks by any party that is deemed to be derogatory or damaging to the overall reputation of the school, staff or management can lead to disciplinary action taken against such individual or even legal action depending on the nature and severity of such information or comments.
11 It needs to be remembered that information put onto face book for example, becomes open to public scrutiny and as such could potentially cause great harm.
12. The use of cell phone short message services (SMS) and Black Berry messenger (BBM) is also not allowed during teaching time and employees should also be very careful about what information they send via this means of communication as well.

Internet use
13. Internet use by learners should be strictly controlled at all times. No learner may access the internet without the permission and close supervision of a teacher. (This includes cell phone access, see regulations related to cell phone use.)
14. Relevant blocking software for potentially harmful sites shall be in place on all computers that will be used to access the internet.
15 Any learner or staff member found to be accessing web sites of an unsuitable nature will be subject to disciplinary proceedings.
16 Internet access will be for educational purposes only i.e.: research, lesson planning etc…
17 Suitable virus protection software will be in use on all systems, both curricular and administrative.

Teaching and Learning
18 ICT processes will be used wherever possible and appropriate during teaching and learning at Martin School.
19 Where possible learners will be encouraged to assist their peers in the use of ICT.
20 Each learner will be introduced to the basic ICT skills required to operate effectively with the computers at the school.
21 Learners will use ICT to support curriculum areas including literacy, numeracy and other key Learning Areas.
22 Teaching staff should endeavour to use a variety of teaching methods incorporating the use of ICT equipment.
23 Provision should be made, where applicable, to develop the potential of the ICT capable child as well as those that are less able.
24 Educators should meet regularly to share ideas relating to the use of ICT in the classroom.
